Why Our Bottles Have Vented Caps
Notice a little liquid around the cap? Nothing’s wrong, and you didn’t lose any of what you paid for. Here’s why.
The cap is doing a job
Many of our liquid products are alive. The beneficial microbes in them keep working after the bottle is filled, and as they do, they release a small amount of gas. A sealed cap would trap it — the bottle would swell, then split. The vent lets it out.
If a little leaked out, nothing is wrong
When pressure escapes, a bit of liquid can come with it, especially after a bottle has been jostled in a truck. We overfill every bottle to account for it. The full labeled amount is there.
Is the product still good?
Yes. A little venting means the biology is active — which is exactly what you’re paying for.

When your order arrives
- Wipe off the bottle
- Check the cap is seated snugly — it’ll still vent, and that’s fine
- Store it upright, cool and dry, out of reach of children and pets
- Don’t swap in a solid cap — sealing the bottle is what makes it burst
More than a little?
If a bottle showed up visibly low, cracked, or soaked through the box, that’s not normal venting. Send us a photo and we’ll make it right.
